I need some opinions on something that is bothering me about Kailynn's daycare. All the area schools, including Kailynn's daycare were closed last Thursday and Friday due to the poor air quality from the fires we had here in Southern California last week. The school closing wasn't so much the problem, but how management handled the situation that bothered me. We were charged the normal, full price for the week, which I don't really have a problem with, but the poor, underpaid staff were only paid 50% for those two days. If the staff were paid normally for those two days, I would completely understand the reasoning behind paying for the time, but since they weren't, I think the parents should receive a 50% credit for the time the school was closed. To me, receiving normal payments for things, then giving their staff only 50% of their normal is just not right in by book. What about everybody else, what is your opinion on this? Am I missing something, or am I right on?
Talking about daycare, both kids were back in their schools today. I think Kailynn spent a little TOO MUCH time with me, because she did NOT want me out of her site today. She really had a huge fit when I left her and all she wanted to do was cuddle with me. It makes me feel so bad leaving her there in that state, but I understand that it's good for her to be around other people. The staff there is really good with the kids, so it's not as tough for me as it could be, but it sure does make me want to keep her home with me.
I'm also back at the office today after working from home a good part of last week. That is also such a bummer. I feel so much more motivated when I'm working from home and not having to drive all over to go to the office or drop kids off or whatever.
Man! They are really going crazy on this
Autism thing. I think it's really scaring parents to think that their children might have something like this. I always worried about my kids not breathing through the night, now I have something else to worry about. I went through all the red flags on the site, and I can say that Kailynn passes with flying colors. Me, on the other hand, I might have some issues. I'm not very social, and my language skills are just down the drain. Maybe I need a special diet. Preferably ice cream and chocolate chip cookies please!
I have another gripe, now that I'm sitting here with Michael watching cartoons. The closer to Christmas we get, the more toy commercials are displayed on TV. Every 30 seconds, I hear Michael Say "Can we get that?". Even Kailynn is starting to immitate him and points at things she wants on TV. The paper came yesterday and the first thing Kailynn did was did through it for the Toys R Us ad. She's not even 2 yet, and she's already digging out toy ads! Do they REALLY need to hit kids with SO many toy ads? Can't we have more ads about how much fun it is to eat veggies or something? Maybe a commercial telling kids that there are OTHER foods BESIDES chicken nuggets shapped like dinosaurs? Throw us a bone here advertisers!
There seems to be a LOT of Halloween shows on this year. Michael can't get enough of them. Halloween Backyardigans, Halloween Max and Ruby, Halloween Dora, Halloween everything. Guess it gives those advertisers more chances to sell Christmas toys!
