Today was Michael's friend's Birthday party at a local bouncy party place. Both kids and myself went to the very early morning party at 9 AM and really had a lot of fun. These Bouncy places are such an excellent idea and a great value. Generally speaking, you can have a large party of 25 or so kids for under $300 and have a couple of hours of non-stop bouncing in several large bouncies. The best part of this whole thing is that you DON'T HAVE TO CLEAN UP. For Michael's fifth party, we held it here at home, spent about the same amount of money, and spent all night cleaning up. We're seriously considering doing something like this for him next year. The kids have a ball and there's no cleaning up. Now that he's in school, with more friends, I think this would all work out nicely. At least he's been bugging me all day about this, telling me that's what he wants to do for his birthday next year.
Kailynn, as is in her nature, was definately the braver of the two. She loves the thrill rides for sure. She wanted to go down the HUGE slide over and over and the look on her face was priceless. I'm sure she would rather go down that thing all by herself if I let her, but I'd rather she go down with me at this point.
Michael went down the big slide once, but sissy and I BOTH had to go down the slide with him.
Between the slides and all the different bouncies, I definately got a good workout. Kailynn didn't want to be out of my sight. She is the more shy person out of my two kids. Anytime anybody would say something to her, she would hide behind me. She was definately cute though. She still doesn't understand how to stand up in the bouncies, so she would grab on to me, or hold my hands, or want me to carry her while we bounced around. Again, definately a work out.
Back in June, Michael and I took a trip to the Bahamas. Knowing we were going since late last year, I decided that I needed to get myself in better shape so that I could enjoy the trip and have enough energy to do the walking and playing I knew we were going to do. I wasn't massively obese, but I was definately overweight. I started walking everyday, eating better and less, cutting stuff like soda out of my diet, etc. And I did get myself in better shape and we did have an awesome time in the Bahamas. We did a LOT of walking, and a LOT of playing and it was all great.
With that said, I still have a long way to go to be completely happy with myself, but it's so much easier to have fun with my kids now and play with them instead of watching them from a bench. I'd much rather be in that bouncy playing with Michael and Kailynn, then sitting on the bench watching them.
