Michael is REALLY into Christmas this year. He's liked Christmas before, but as he gets older, he gets more and more into it.
This year he started bugging me before Halloween about putting up Christmas decorations. I was able to postpone actually putting up the decorations until the day after Thanksgiving. The first thing he wanted to do was put up his stocking. He was very anxious to get that out of the way. Once that was up, he was a lot happier and could enjoy the rest of decorating without stressing out too much.
Now that the decorations are up, he's in charge of the official Christmas calendar and he moves the placeholder one day forward each day in the march to Christmas day.
All he can talk about is Santa Claus and Rudolph and what they are doing right now and if I think they are getting enough sleep getting ready for Christmas, because we don't want them falling asleep and missing Christmas. And he wants to know who's in charge of feeding the reindeer and who takes off their bridles after Christmas and the whole thing. He's definatly keeping me on my toes.
Kailynn isn't AS excited about Christmas as Michael, but she's excited in her own way. Her favorite thing to do is to go on nightly walks with me around the neighborhood and see all the Christmas lights. When we get home, as soon as she gets out of her stroller, she wants to go outside and hug the blow up snowman in out frontyard. She likes feeling the buttons on his front and squeezing his carrot nose.
So, both kids are pretty cute this time of year. Michael knows exactly what's going on at 5 years old, and Kailynn gets the gist of what's going on, but doesn't completely understand the whole process at 2 years old.
OK, time for some icecream and sit down and watch the last part of Tin Man on Sci-Fi channel, so to all a good night!
