I've noticed a few differences between working from home with Kailynn and working from home with Michael. These two are approximately 3 years apart in age, but each one acts different when I'm working home with just one of them.
Interestingly enough, Kailynn is easier to work from home with. Michael requires some more attention, because he wants me to play with him more, and wants me to help him do certain things. Michael just requires more of my attention then Kailynn does. There's also the added benefit that Kailynn takes a 2 to 3 hour nap during the day which allows me to focus completely on the work that I'm doing at that particular time.
Michael also has a longer memory and remembers if I promised him certain things. Even if it was weeks ago. He'll being up something like I promised him that he could go next door and play with the little girl next door at a certain day. He doesn't let me forget things like that at all. However, his memory is definately hit and miss. He remembers that I promised him I would buy him a toy 2 months ago, but he completely forgets that I asked him to clean up his room five minutes ago. Interesting how the human brain works.
Kailynn is still young enough where she doesn't challenge her parents rule. You tell her to pick up her mess, she does exactly that. But you need to feed her instructions one at a time. She's not yet old enough to follow complex commands two deeply.
Michael's old enough to follow more complex instructions, but he likes to argue or try to negotiate a better deal for himself. "OK, I will clean my room, but then I want to be able to not clean the living room up." I think he's going to be a great politician!
