First of, congratulations to Daddy Fireman on winning the Petzl headlight. I was going to do a video of the kids pulling a name from a hat, but I've been pretty lazy recently, so the video didn't go, but the random drawing did. Daddy Fireman was sent his light and he was pretty happy with it, even if he is a lurker. He's a fireman by trade and it sounds like he'll get some great use out of it.
On another note, the original Xbox didn't get fixed. We ordered the part I thought I needed, but it still isn't working. I don't want to spend anymore money on it, because you can get refurbished ones for $50 and I've already spent $20 on the new part. This was just something for Super Michael to take to the office to play with during the summer. He has a Nintendo 64, but now that he's getting into video games more, I thought the Xbox would be a treat for him. He's pretty spoiled with the Xbox 360.
Now that it's summer, and it's light out later, the kids absolute refuse to go to sleep at their normal 8PM time frame. For the past few weeks, we've been FINALLY getting them to bed around 10PM. This limits my free time greatly, so sorry about not being around the whole bloggy world. I try to catch up here and there. And to make matters worse, Princess K wakes up fairly early. 5AM this morning. Super Michael sleeps later and will sleep until 8AM, so at least he's a little more normal.
Recently, I've been trying to train them to be a little more self sufficient. Super Michael will come downstairs by himself, turn on the TV, and turn it to the Disney Channel all by himself. So, at least I can take a shower in peace without him staring at me saying, "when are we going downstairs?". If Princess K hears Super Michael downstairs, she'll join him.
So, today is the 233rd birthday of the U.S.A. That's a long time in my book, and she still looks pretty good in my book.
To celebrate, we're headed off to Nana's house to do some swimming and BBQ. We're taking up the Xbox 360 and playing some family Guitar Hero. Super Michael has decided he likes to sing, so he's all over that. I tried the drums last time and my arms were sore for awhile. Maybe Auntie will move up into Easy mode from Beginner. What do you say, Auntie?
Have a great holiday everybody and thanks for stopping by!
